Position Title: Youth Mentor
Job Summary:
The Therapeutic Mentor (TM) provides structured, individualized, strength-based support services to youth under 21 years old, focusing on their daily living, social, and communication needs across various environments. The mentorship is designed to improve age-appropriate social skills and address any challenges in the youth's social functioning. This role includes coaching, training, and support to foster appropriate behavior, communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and social interactions with peers and adults.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in activities with youth to meet the objectives outlined in their treatment plans
- Offer coaching and training to assist youth in navigating social situations and developing new skills
- Maintain regular communication and collaboration with individuals involved in the youth's life
- Exhibit awareness and sensitivity to contextual factors during interactions with youth
- Prepare progress reports and ensure adherence to established guidelines
- Provide transportation for activities related to treatment
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License and appropriate auto insurance
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth
- Fluency in Spanish and English is preferred
