Advanced Formulation Specialist II

SUMMARY:
The Formulation Technician II will assist senior staff in achieving effective multi-step production objectives concerning Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. All tasks are performed with a strong focus on safety and in compliance with ISO standards and Lean manufacturing principles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work areas.
- Supply materials for production tasks, with the potential to handle simpler work orders independently as experience grows.
- Utilize necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators when necessary.
- Manage hazardous waste in accordance with environmental regulations, including collection and bulk storage.
- Document processes through batch records, reports, and laboratory notebooks.
- Encourage a collaborative and positive work environment.
- With experience, may perform washing of chromatography resins and gels.
- Engage in cross-functional project teams.
- Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated mechanical skills.
- Capability to safely manage flammable solvents.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Completion of hazardous waste training within the first month of employment.
- Annual refresher training on hazardous waste management topics.
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as distillation, filtration, and crystallization.
- Preferred qualifications include an Associate's degree in Chemistry or equivalent experience, with a B.S. in a scientific discipline being advantageous.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to regularly lift up to 40 lbs.
EDUCATION:
Must possess an accredited high school diploma or GED.
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time; Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
