Optum Mammography Technologist Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Optum in Brooklyn, NY. As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammographic images and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mammographic procedures and operate related equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • Provide a tranquil environment for patients, ensuring they adhere to examination instructions.
  • Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and ensure proper file identification.
  • Maintain logs, process paperwork for biopsies, and utilize sterile techniques to prevent contamination.
  • Assist in the completion of the accreditation process for the American College of Radiology (ACR) every three years.
  • Observe patient vital signs during examination and provide coverage as needed.
  • Provide instruction and mentoring to new hires and maintain communication with radiologists and other medical staff.

Requirements:

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) (M) certified.
  • Digital Mammography Certified.
  • Electronic Medical Records experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or Bachelor's Degree in Radiography, Radiation Therapy, or Nuclear Medicine.
  • 1+ years of experience as a general radiologic technologist.
  • EPIC EMR experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to lift patients weighing up to 300 pounds and place them in appropriate positions for equipment operation.
  • Eyesight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and review developed films.

Compensation and Benefits:

New York Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour. Pay is based on several factors, including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, and more. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
