Artisan Craftsman

The Artisan Craftsman - Painter will be responsible for transforming surfaces through expert application of paint, varnish, stain, wallpaper, and coatings. This skilled professional will ensure the preservation and beautification of exterior and interior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures within Cedar Fair's facilities.

• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to execute assigned tasks accurately. Order materials and supplies as needed. Complete projects according to specifications and directions.
• Apply paint, vinyl, and wallpaper to walls, furniture, and structures, including special papers and fabrics.
• Prepare surfaces by applying paints, stains, shading stains, and clear finishes.
• Remove previous paint using sandblasting, scraping, sanding, hydro-blasting, and steam-cleaning. Inspect and refurbish wall surfaces using suitable materials.
• Apply wood finishing by properly preparing surfaces.
• Determine, cut, and apply wallpaper or fabric to walls as requested.
• Operate and maintain high-pressure low-volume spray machines and other power tools.
• Maintain records and logs of products used and time spent. Submit finished work orders to supervisors and maintain logs of Volatile Organic Compound and spray volume.

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Vocational or technical training in paint and coatings application, or a related field, is desirable.
• A minimum of 4-6 years of industrial, commercial painting experience is required.
• A valid driver's license is necessary.
• The ability to read color charts and mix paints with automated paint mixers is essential.
• Prior experience reading blueprints, drawings, technical specifications, and material data sheets is beneficial for successful task completion.
