About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Director to lead our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at Parkland Health and Hospital System. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall direction and daily operational activities of the NICU, including planning, budgeting, personnel management, quality improvement, and collaboration with physicians and administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective fiscal management strategies to ensure the efficient use of department resources.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Risk Management staff to develop and implement quality indicators, such as quality checklists, chart audits, and patient/employee surveys.
  • Act as a leadership resource for physicians, nurse managers, faculty, staff, patients/families, and executive teams, providing reports and research information as needed.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with physicians, department leaders, ancillary staff, and other departments/units, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Oversee the condition and safety of the department facilities, including cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and environmental safety.
Requirements
  • MSN or DNP degree from an accredited Professional School of Nursing.
  • Eight (8) years of current NICU registered nurse experience.
  • Three (3) years of Level III NICU Director experience.
  • Experience gained within a teaching hospital is highly preferred.
