Job Title: Principal RFIC Design Engineer

A Digital Business Unit is seeking a highly skilled Principal RFIC Design Engineer to join the R&D team and contribute to the development of next-generation intelligent RF/wireless communication products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, integrate, develop, and validate RFICs for intelligent integrated RF/wireless communication system-on-chip (SOC)
  • Collaborate with system teams and digital teams to define RF/Analog frontend design requirements and block specifications
  • Coordinate chip integration with other analog/RFIC design engineers and provide guidelines for layout teams
  • Work with product application teams and production teams to complete chip characterization, production test development, and end-customer support
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior members of the team
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of communication theories and DSP concepts
  • Experience in wireless transceiver design and full silicon and production development flow
  • Familiarity with modern wireless transceiver architecture design, system/behavior level modeling, and simulation for trade-off analysis and performance evaluation
  • Design experience in WiFi/Bluetooth/Cellular systems is strongly preferred
  • Design experience with low-power transceivers is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of RF production level tests is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of wireless/digital communication theory and DSP is preferred
  • Experience with EM extraction and modeling for custom passive devices is preferred
  • MSEE degree with 15+ years or Ph.D. degree with 10+ years of industry experience in RF/Analog circuit design with advanced CMOS processes
  • Strong background in CMOS RF transceiver architectures for modern communication systems
  • Solid understanding of device physics and advanced CMOS process
  • Sufficient familiarity with Verilog-A/AMS and Matlab for behavioral modeling and system-level simulations
  • Strong knowledge on RF/Analog circuit simulation tools and testing techniques
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzer and network analyzer
