We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Compass Health Network. As a Community Living Instructor/Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals with chronic mental health issues.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a Safe and Secure Environment: Ensure the well-being and safety of clients through oversight of program and facility grounds.
- Facilitate Therapeutic Growth: Use individual and group activities to help consumers develop behaviors and skills to enhance rehabilitation.
- Implement DMH Approved Curriculum: Utilize approved curriculum focused on building skills and knowledge about the management of mental illness to promote community living.
- Enhance Independence: Use methods and techniques to improve an individual's desire or motivation to maximize independence.
- Provide Individual Assistance: Accompany consumers to appointments and assist in accessing needed mental health services, as well as public services such as financial and housing assistance.
- High School/GED: Required for the position.
- Experience in Mental Health: At least two years of experience in a mental health related field is preferred.
- Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license at the time of hire with the ability to obtain and maintain a Class E MO driver's license by the end of the 60-day introductory period is required.
