As a Japanese Instructor, you will be responsible for performing tasks that support the advancement of the visions, missions, and values of the colleges and District. This includes teaching in the classroom, evaluating students, curriculum development, student advising, professional development, and any assignment-specific needs.

**Required Qualifications**:

  • A Master's in Japanese OR
  • Bachelor's in Japanese AND Master's in another language or linguistics OR
  • The equivalent.

    **Working Conditions**: Faculty positions may require long periods of standing and walking in a typical classroom setting. Specific conditions may vary by subjects taught.

    The District provides an optional part-time faculty benefits program and membership in the State Teachers' Retirement System (STRS) or the Pension Eligible Alternative Retirement (PEAR) Plan.

    As a part-time faculty member, you will have the flexibility to work on a variety of assignments, with work hours varying based on the assignment. The starting salary range for this position is Class II, step 1 of the Adjunct, Overload and Substitute Salary Schedule.

    The anticipated start date for this position is Spring 2025.
