Ship Fitter Job Description

Labor One is currently hiring skilled Ship Fitters for a Shipyard in San Diego, CA. As a Ship Fitter, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling ship structures, including welding, tacking, and burning.

Requirements:
  • Three years of experience in the shipyard.
  • Proficiency in welding techniques, including FCAW.
  • Ability to pass the Ship Fitter Welding Assessment.

Fillet Welding: You will be required to weld plates with 2F, 3F, and 4F configurations, with a testing time of 1-2 hours. Additionally, you will need to weld a T Bar 12X4" 3/8" thick with 2F, 3F, and 4F configurations, including a VT and Fracture test.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Capacity to hear warning signals and read safety instructions, regulations, and warnings.
  • Flexibility to work any shift and overtime.
