Position Overview:
As a Risk Management Consultant at Lockton, you will work closely with clients to evaluate potential hazards that could affect their overall risk expenditures. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with clients to provide insights and strategies for mitigating identified risks
- Assisting in the development of effective strategies and resources for implementing risk management initiatives
- Conducting training sessions focused on critical safety protocols and industry standards
- Leveraging both qualitative and quantitative analysis to support clients in reducing risks and associated costs
- Gathering comprehensive data on complex client accounts concerning claims evaluation, loss trends, and other technical details, while monitoring historical loss patterns as necessary
- Delivering loss prevention and risk assessment services to clients and prospects to improve their loss ratios and premium rates
- Offering recommendations for addressing unsafe conditions, practices, or potential losses, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations
- Evaluating sites, equipment, operations, and safety measures for both existing and prospective clients, communicating findings to internal teams and clients to identify potential risks and underwriting concerns
- Sharing vital safety, hazard prevention, and loss control information with clients
- Supporting Producers in establishing and nurturing business relationships by developing and providing loss control services
- Interpreting and evaluating recommendations from insurance carriers
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and remaining updated on any changes to laws and regulations related to loss control
- Providing necessary education on loss control regulations to clients
- Carrying out additional duties and responsibilities as required
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Typically requires 5+ years of experience in risk management and loss control
- Proficiency in data analysis, particularly with Excel spreadsheets, is essential
- Strong communication skills are crucial
- Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines is preferred
- Knowledge of industry trends and governmental regulations is vital
- Previous experience in property, fleet safety, workers' compensation, and liability sectors is beneficial
- Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time, including both car and air travel
- Availability to attend company, departmental, and team meetings as necessary, including industry training sessions
- Commitment to adhering to all company policies and procedures, while safeguarding the confidentiality of client and company information
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
- Ability to utilize computers for extended periods
- Flexibility to work beyond standard business hours when needed
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Preferred qualifications include ARM, ASP, or CSP designations, though not mandatory
