Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission GIS Analyst to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company LLC. This is a 1-year contract assignment that will play a crucial role in supporting the expansion of our transmission system, paving the way for a carbon-free future.
Key Responsibilities
- Support management and project developers in transmission development throughout the US and Canada by providing Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping, technical support, and data analysis.
- Collaborate with Sr Transmission Analysts – GIS to deliver innovative solutions and development paths for moderately complex special projects, including maps, digital data, reports, and statistics.
- Coordinate the completion of projects with quality deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results.
- Provide technical support for routing and site suitability analysis for substation and transmission projects.
- Produce maps for executives, management, and multidiscipline business units, as well as for RFP responses.
- Interpret and map legal descriptions from exhibits, deeds, and tax appraisers.
- Research and update existing databases to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform data mining activities to acquire publicly available data.
- Develop specialized queries and reports to meet customer requirements and specifications.
- Interface with users to document and map requested changes.
- Utilize Model Builder to automate current manual processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in GIS analysis and mapping.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in GIS analysis and mapping.
- Experience in the utilities industry.
