Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Aviation Maintenance Trainee to join our team. As a Student Learner, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the aviation industry while pursuing your Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and learn from experienced maintenance personnel to gain a deeper understanding of aviation maintenance procedures and protocols.
  • Participate in training courses and workshops to develop your skills and knowledge in areas such as safety protocols, equipment operation, and maintenance procedures.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with daily tasks and projects, applying your knowledge and skills to support the team.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Navy terminology, technical libraries, logs, and records systems, as well as ground flight procedures.
  • Learn about safety protocols and equipment, including Foreign Object Damage inspections and related procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's license and be able to meet any Government requirements for Federal reservation entry.
  • Graduation from High school or GED.
  • Maintain a passing grade in George Stone A&P program.
Working Environment
  • Requires sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires frequent climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, crouching, kneeling.
  • Must have close vision to include color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
  • Requires hearing to normal range.
