POSITION SUMMARY
- Leads the coordination and delivery of high-quality, compassionate patient care.
- Employs the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and education for patients and their families.
- Communicates essential patient and family information effectively to the healthcare team.
- Engages in problem-solving for discrepancies from patient objectives and ensures the execution of solutions.
- Serves as a patient advocate, utilizing the nursing process to design, deliver, and assess individualized, safe, age-appropriate care for all patients, including those with complex medical and psychosocial needs.
UNIT OVERVIEW:
The Emergency Department is a 32-bed facility equipped with two additional trauma rooms. As a Level III trauma center, we hold certifications for Stroke and STEMI care, catering to a diverse patient population, including pediatrics.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURE:
- Current licensure from the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
