Golf Shop Operations Associate

PAY RATE: $14.30 per hour (up to 1,500 hours per year.)

Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $3.00 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Additionally, eligible seasonal employees will receive a $0.60 per hour seasonal bonus for all hours worked.

AGE REQUIREMENT: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license.

POSITION SUMMARY: This role primarily involves managing the golf shop operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following list outlines the essential functions of this position. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all patrons.
  • Manage tee time bookings, including processing online reservations.
  • Check in golfers and handle payments using a point of sale system.
  • Oversee the sale of merchandise within the golf shop.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the golf shop and surrounding areas, including restrooms.
  • Receive and organize stock items in designated storage areas.
  • Ensure golf shop merchandise is adequately stocked and notify the Golf Service Manager of low inventory levels.
  • Maintain a proper change fund and prepare accurate daily revenue reports.
  • Facilitate the orderly flow of golfers from the #1 and #10 tees.
  • Promote the Metroparks and related events.
  • Assist the Golf Service Manager with various related tasks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to recognize letters and symbols.
  • Effective communication skills via telephone.
  • Strong verbal communication abilities.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Professional and courteous demeanor with customers.
  • Proficient in operating a computer and relevant software.
  • Accurate cash handling skills, including making change.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours based on park needs.
  • Ability to collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, and park visitors.
  • Availability to work assigned special events, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Willingness to adjust schedule to meet organizational requirements.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Capability to perform essential job functions.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to comprehend and execute oral and written instructions.
  • Capability to load, unload, and transport materials as needed.
