Department Overview:

The MITRE Global Security Services (GSS) team collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders to manage security risks effectively. Within GSS, the Industrial Security Programs (ISP) Department is responsible for overseeing the operations of classified facilities and implementing security controls to protect both unclassified and classified national security information. Our approach focuses on efficiently applying resources to mitigate risks through established security administration standards and control strategies that align with corporate expectations.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an Industrial Security Specialist to provide essential security support for various projects across the Department of Defense (DoD) at our headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate security processes related to Control and Accountability, Storage, Transmission, Reproduction, Disposition, Retention, Disclosure, and Destruction of classified materials.
  • Ensure proper accounting, control, transmission, packaging, and safeguarding of classified information, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain document control security by safeguarding classified documents in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Analyze classified documents to verify correct markings.
  • Assist with self-inspections to ensure compliance with governmental and organizational regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all accountable classified materials.
  • Support investigations into security incidents as required.
  • Interpret security policies and provide guidance to personnel.
  • Stay current with security knowledge through ongoing training.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Perform additional security-related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret clearance is required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the Industrial Security field.
  • Basic understanding of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
  • Experience with DoD security systems, such as DISS and NISS.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
  • This position requires on-site presence to support leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing Security Information Management Systems (SIMS).
