Job Summary

The InsideHigherEd team is seeking a highly qualified Veterinary Biomedical Technology Instructor to join our faculty. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a high-quality Veterinary Biomedical Technology curriculum for undergraduate students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses and labs in Veterinary Biomedical Technology, including online and face-to-face instruction.
  • Interact with departmental faculty to assist with advising needs and provide leadership for service activities.
  • Provide care and maintenance of all lab equipment and facilities, as well as maintain inventory and financial records for the program.
  • Help conduct FFA CDE events related to Veterinary Medicine and assist with other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • M.S. in veterinary science, animal science, biology, or related field.
  • Currently Certified Veterinary Technician, with willingness to obtain Texas Certification, if not currently certified in Texas.
  • Experience in the veterinary industry as an LVT, with excellent ability to communicate effectively (written and spoken English).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with ability to multi-task and work well as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and Licensed Veterinary Technician.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Higher education teaching experience as instructor of record and beyond the graduate student level.
  • Previous experience with online instruction, as well as experience in a veterinary surgical environment.
  • Large and exotic animal knowledge/experience, with ability to supervise graduate assistants and student workers.
