Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Perioperative Assistant to join our team at Tucson Medical Center. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a clean and safe environment for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Transport patients and specimens to and from various areas of the hospital, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Assist with patient transfers and positioning, ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients.
  • Perform routine cleaning and disinfection of operating rooms, equipment, and supplies, following established policies and procedures.
  • Relay accurate messages to healthcare providers and patients, maintaining effective communication throughout the hospital.
  • Transport linens, trash, and biohazardous materials, adhering to established protocols and wearing personal protective equipment as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; six months of related experience preferred.
  • Certifications may be required based on department.
  • Knowledge of healthcare practices, sterilization standards, and radiation safety.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
