ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Advanced Education Program Specialist is responsible for overseeing professional development initiatives for school leaders, focusing on leadership growth, including the Pennsylvania Inspired Leadership (PIL) Program. Responsibilities include spearheading the creation and management of resources provided to educational institutions for leadership enhancement, such as digital platforms, newsletters, forums, and training materials. You will assess course participation throughout the year, introducing new courses as necessary and consolidating or canceling those with low enrollment. This role also involves planning and executing professional development sessions statewide, sharing best practices related to leadership growth and principal evaluation systems, and collaborating with various partners to extend technical support to schools, districts, and other educational entities. Additionally, this position entails providing direct assistance to the team responsible for the annual SAS Institute conference.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time position.
  • Standard work hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, including a 60-minute lunch break.
  • Telework: Opportunities for part-time telework may be available, allowing for one day a week of remote work, provided you have a secure high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location within Pennsylvania.
  • This role requires travel.
  • Salary: The starting salary may be non-negotiable in certain instances.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Basic Education Associate I; or
  • Five years of professional experience in the education sector; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • A valid and active Administrative Certificate is required for this position.
  • Applicants must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions is necessary.
