AutoCAD Drafter Position

Job Summary
Leidos is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Drafter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing drawing packages, creating rack assembly schematics, and identifying material requirements for mechanical parts.
Responsibilities:
- Validate drawing packages for accuracy
- Create rack assembly schematics from rack elevation drawings
- Identify rack assembly equipment requirements from rack elevation to meet customer specifications and ensure the correct parts are ordered
- Responsible for engineering assemblies and subassemblies that includes all mechanical and electrical components and requirements
- Identify material requirements for mechanical parts and certify they are in compliance with the current mil-standard
- Design mechanical parts based on function and ensure they are manufactured to meet design specifications and dimension tolerances
- Develop cable assembly drawings that identify components and pin-out connectivity in accordance with industry and equipment standards
- Develop and maintain all documentation for a project build that includes Regional Hub Node floor layouts, wiring diagrams, rack assembly schematics, rack part drawings, power distribution schematics, power component drawings, ground power schematics, modification kit instructions, inter-rack cable list, and intra-rack cable list
- Monitor the rack assembly build and update rack assembly drawings as required to reflect any acceptable changes required
- Draft modification kit instructions and cable list based on rack elevations that identify changes to current rack design for installation at Regional Hub Node
- Develop test procedures for network and satellite equipment to validate they operate within required specifications
- Conduct Performance Acceptance testing on Networking and Satellite systems
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 or more years relevant experience. Additional directly related experience can offset the degree requirements.
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain.
- Direct design experience using CAD software on industry projects.
- Ability to work in a team environment with others including, but not limited to, Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and drafters in multi-discipline groups.
- Strong attention to detail and work product quality.
- Knowledge of drafting principles, techniques, and procedures.
- Must have, or can obtain US Passport.
- Must be able to travel up to 30%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of or background in the telecommunications field with emphasis on satellite communication systems.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum wage requirements as well as the minimum Health and Welfare benefit. Leidos will ensure that all provisions are met through their wages and benefits. The pay for this position will be between $29.30/hr. to $31.25/hr.
