Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Develop and implement warehouse systems to optimize product handling, storage, and inventory management.
    • Design processes for receiving, equipment utilization, and shipping, while continuously refining policies and procedures.
  • Strategic Contribution:
    • Provide insights and recommendations on warehouse operations to contribute to the organization's strategic plans.
    • Prepare and execute action plans to meet production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
    • Proactively address and resolve operational challenges.
    • Set clear team goals and maintain respectful accountability.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Conduct regular audits and inventory cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
    • Safeguard inventory against damage, ensuring each piece is flawlessly stored and labeled.

  • Product Knowledge:

  • Order Fulfillment:
    • Ensure timely and accurate order processing, coordinating with our delivery team for smooth logistics.
    • Master the art of pallet wrapping and product loading to ensure safe transport.
    • Prepare sold items for delivery with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Furniture Movement:
    • Direct and supervise the movement of furniture within the warehouse, ensuring proper handling and placement.
    • Manage the loading and unloading of trucks.
    • Direct and supervise the coordination of schedules for trucks for delivery or pick up.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide knowledgeable assistance to sales and customers regarding product availability.
    • Delight customers during warehouse pickups with unparalleled service.
    • Proactively address and escalate customer concerns to ensure satisfaction.
    • Assist with customer store setup.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Oversee all aspects of warehouse human resource management, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
    • Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, coaching, and enforcement of policies and procedures.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Manage warehouse financials by forecasting requirements, preparing annual budgets, and analyzing variances.
    • Implement corrective actions to stay within budget and optimize cost-efficiency.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on warehouse operations, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and other performance metrics.
  • Warehouse Design & Efficiency:
    • Plan and optimize warehouse layout, product flow, and handling systems to enhance storage efficiency.
    • Evaluate and recommend new equipment to support improved workflow and space utilization.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures.
    • Ensure adherence to all legal regulations.
  • Security Management:
    • Develop and implement policies to secure warehouse property and manage access controls.
    • Oversee building and facilities management, ensuring the security and maintenance of all locations.
    • Transfer merchandise to and from store locations.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Monitor and maintain all warehouse equipment and machinery, ensuring they remain in optimal working conditions.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods

· Ability to engage in physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and carrying heavy furniture.

· Adaptability to various environmental conditions within the warehouse.

· Must be able to listen and speak clearly on telephone

· Capability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting objects at least 75lbs.

· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or quantitative productivity standards

· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse management, logistics, production planning, and supply chain management.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
  • Must have valid Texas Driver's License
  • Ability to drive 26-foot bobtail truck
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and mindfulness.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform job duties with utmost professionalism and integrity, maintaining a drug-free workplace environment
