Business Teacher at Jalen Rose Leadership Academy

Jalen Rose Leadership Academy is a public charter high school located in Detroit, Michigan, that provides a leadership-focused education to its students. As a CTE Business Finance Teacher, you will play a crucial role in helping students develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the business and finance industry.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business and finance, with experience in teaching and mentoring students. You will be responsible for creating and implementing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and providing individualized support to students. Additionally, you will be expected to participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards and JRLA instructional guidelines
- Assess student progress and provide individualized support to students
- Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices
- Manage student-run enterprises and provide students with support and instructional preparation to earn industry certifications
- Participate as an active member of the CTE Advisory Board for Business Administration and Finance
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (preferred) in business, finance, or a related field
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a CTE endorsement in business or finance
- Experience in teaching and mentoring students in business and finance
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage student-run enterprises and provide students with support and instructional preparation to earn industry certifications
