Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineering Lead to join our team at HSBC. As a key member of our Global Data Technology Services organization, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of data engineering initiatives in the US market, both locally and globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the execution of data programs that enable US strategy and global strategy to achieve business and technology goals
  • Manage teams based in the US and India, overseeing GDT business applications/services that service GB/GFs in the US and globally
  • Drive execution of data migration programs between platforms to enable business growth with cost benefits
  • Develop and deploy world-class technology solutions that enable business success, leading strategy and delivery
  • Partner with external organizations to leverage expertise and resources, and establish partnerships with vendors to identify opportunities and partnerships
  • Manage significant expenditure in a complex organization, planning and managing budgets to achieve business objectives
Requirements
  • Experience running data programs and/or organizations at a large financial services institution
  • Experience with architecture design principles and technical definition/execution of large programs
  • Significant experience in executing data migration programs between platforms to enable business growth with cost benefits
  • Technical knowledge on data platforms and new trends (data analytics on Cloud)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data structure, data architecture, data systems/tools and related software and data management policies and practices in a complex organizational environment
  • Proven record of effective management, including planning and decision-making, identifying priorities, and bringing projects to successful completion in a timely manner
