Job Summary

As a Maintenance Specialist at CDS Life Transitions, you will be responsible for performing facility maintenance for our residential and day programs, as well as other CDSLT sites. This includes responding to emergency and safety concerns, performing maintenance, repairs, and renovations as needed, and ensuring the effective and safe operation of all mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and inform supervisor of all emergencies, safety concerns, and accidents, and implement approved action plans.
  • Assess CDS Monarch physical plant sites as required, and make recommendations for repairs or renovations.
  • Perform general building and residential maintenance, repairs, and renovations, including plumbing, electrical, painting, cleaning, flooring, carpentry, roof repair, landscaping, and furniture moves.
  • Maintain fire alarm, sprinkler systems, and security systems to ensure compliance with relevant codes.
  • Provide emergency on-call coverage for all facilities.
  • Adhere to and enforce all components of OSHA and OPWDD regulations, as well as local and New York State building codes.
  • Perform Facility Audits as assigned, and work with outside contractors to secure bids for facility projects.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years' experience in facility/building maintenance required.
  • Certifications in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Pool, etc.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must meet CDS Monarch Vehicle Operator requirements.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in an environment where there is repeated walking, stooping, bending, lifting above shoulder level, and crawling.
  • Ability to turn/twist upper body.
  • Able to use hand repetitive action for fine manipulating, keyboarding, and typing.
