Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Medical Professional to join our Gastroenterology team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of evidence-based practice initiatives. Your expertise in nursing interventions, medication administration, and patient education will play a vital role in ensuring positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Identify and document patient/family objective/subjective data and observations
- Report pertinent findings to the RN Care Manager/practitioner
- Collaborate with the RN Care Manager directing the patient's care regarding appropriate tasks/nursing interventions
- Implement nursing interventions according to established standards demonstrating competence in specified skills
- Administer and document medications by all routes, i.e., oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, transdermal, rectal, and aerosol, utilizing the five rights and all other related safety recommendations
- Demonstrate sound clinical decision-making
- Communicate and document patient response to care interventions
- Provide input into revision of plan and care based upon data collected and identified patient/family needs
- Provide instructions/education and explains procedures to patients/families according to established standards
- Reinforce teaching related to diagnosis and home-going instructions
- Assist with examinations and treatments
- Use established channels of communication to seek assistance, obtain clarification, share information, and offer suggestions
- Assist in emergency situations as directed by the RN Care Managers
- Participate in unit-based research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Develop professional goals as well as a plan to accomplish them
- Pursue learning opportunities through attendance at in-service programs, continuing education, or formal educational programs

Department Specific
Maintain efficient patient flow in clinic, appropriately managing unexpected changes in schedule and late arriving/incorrectly scheduled patients.
