We are currently seeking a Staff Autonomy Systems & Safety Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define vehicle behaviors, capabilities, and operational contexts: Create Use Cases; Develop Concepts of Operation to support Safety Analysis and Platform Requirements; Establish Operational Design Domain (ODD) ontology; Collaborate with experts to identify relevant policies and regulations.
  • Work alongside Software, Systems, and Safety Engineering teams to define system architectures; Establish system-level requirements for autonomous vehicle capabilities and performance metrics; Conduct detailed data analysis to justify system-level requirements and test coverage; Break down requirements to sub-system levels ensuring traceability; Assist in requirement management workflows and tooling.
  • Facilitate collaborative development activities and working groups, including design reviews and requirement reconciliation, while producing high-quality documentation.
  • Develop verification and validation strategies, demonstrating compliance with requirements in partnership with software and testing teams.
  • Promote industry best practices and ensure their consistent application across the organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a safety-critical environment with standards for software development, safety fault/hazard analysis, and requirements-driven software verification and validation.
  • Proficient in Python for engineering tasks and data analysis.
  • Experience in writing testable system-level and software-level requirements.
  • Experience in software design assessment and conducting code reviews.
  • Able to navigate ambiguity and adapt to evolving priorities and complex challenges.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Proven experience with ISO 26262, ASPICE, and ISO SOTIF.
  • Familiarity with AI or Autonomous Systems technologies (e.g., Reinforcement Learning, Deep Learning, Machine Learning) applied to sensing, perception, or control of autonomous systems.
  • Knowledge of C++ and modern software development practices, including unit testing and integration processes.
  • Experience with various testing methodologies.

The compensation for this role is competitive and reflects the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, the successful candidate will be eligible for performance bonuses, equity compensation, and comprehensive benefits.
