Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support our growing Energy Business Line. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of mechanical engineering services across various markets, including oil and gas, industrial processes, and mining.

The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented and experienced engineer who can make decisions independently under the guidance of senior staff. Responsibilities include developing mechanical equipment and piping material specifications, producing calculations to inform design, and coordinating with the mechanical design team.

This is an excellent career opportunity for an engineer with a strong technical background and looking to grow into a project technical leadership role. The ideal candidate will have experience with specifying mechanical equipment, diverse metallurgy, and engineering software packages such as Caesar II and Pipe-Flo.

  • Develop mechanical equipment and piping material specifications
  • Produce calculations to inform design
  • Coordinate with mechanical design team
  • Multi-discipline collaboration on equipment general arrangements, P&IDs, and isometrics
  • Attend client meetings and site field visits
  • Work under limited supervision
  • Maintain open communication with project team
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations
  • Interact with vendors, regulatory agencies, and contractors
  • Preparation of project specification and contract documents
