Job Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist - Weekend will provide direct patient care, including assessment and treatment of swallowing, feeding, speech, language, and cognitive disorders. This role will cover a spectrum of inpatient diagnoses, including stroke, head trauma, head and neck cancer, chronic airway disorder, and related disorders. The Speech Language Pathologist will also provide services for speech, language, and swallowing in a medically based practice, serving pediatric to geriatric patient populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers and families
  • Prepare and maintain patient care documentation in a timely manner
  • Attend designated clinics, rounds, and conferences
  • Participate in educational programs for staff, students, volunteers, and other professional healthcare personnel
  • Participate in training for new staff
  • Serve as a clinical instructor for students
  • Facilitate new program development

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Speech Pathology, NYS licensure, clinical certification in Speech Pathology (or its equivalent) and completion of clinical fellowship year required.

CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Availability to work at least one weekend (Saturday & Sunday) a month, day shift.
