Job Title: Psychiatric Security Specialist

Are you passionate about providing exceptional care and security to individuals with mental health needs? Do you have a strong background in security and treatment? We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Security Specialist to join our team at the State of Iowa.

About the Role:

This is a full-time opportunity that requires a high level of security and treatment expertise. As a Psychiatric Security Specialist, you will be responsible for providing direct-care services of both a security and treatment nature at our facility. This includes supervising patient activities, facilitating psycho-educational group activities, documenting patient behaviors, and operating the master control center.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise patient activities and ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Facilitate psycho-educational group activities to promote patient well-being
  • Document patient behaviors and provide accurate reports
  • Operate the master control center to monitor patient activities
  • Supervise patients on medical trips outside of the facility

Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school, GED, or equivalency
  • Ability to pass a background investigation
  • Ability to complete security training and treatment program training
