About the Role:

The Vice President of M&A and Corporate Finance will be responsible for supporting the origination and execution of M&A and strategic advisory transactions within the Corporate Finance team. This role will involve working closely with senior team members and managing junior staff to prepare presentations, comprehensive analyses, and daily project management. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial drive, attention to detail, and ability to work time-efficiently within a team setting.

About the Department:

ING Corporate Finance advises on M&A transactions, including buy side and sell side deals, strategic advisory assignments, and capital raisings. The team supports the ING client base across various sectors, with a focus on transportation and infrastructure, food and agriculture, energy, telecom, media, and technology. The Vice President of M&A and Corporate Finance will work closely with other team members globally to analyze, model, negotiate, source, and manage M&A transactions on behalf of ING's clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Originate and execute M&A deals, strategic advisory assignments, and capital raising transactions
  • Assist senior team members and manage junior staff in the origination and execution of transactions
  • Monitor market developments, identify opportunities for new business, and build a client network
  • Maintain close ties with relevant product and sector teams within ING

Qualifications and Competencies:

The ideal candidate will have 6-9 years of experience in M&A at a reputable investment bank, with demonstrable hands-on experience in M&A on a daily basis. They will have a high energy level, strong commercial drive, attention to detail, ability to work time-efficiently within a team setting, and be able to represent the team well, both internally and externally. The candidate will also have knowledge of M&A processes, financial modeling, problem analysis and judgment, ambition, high level of energy, high attention to detail and accuracy, teamwork, strong communication skills, performance motivation, perseverance, creativity and idea generation, client origination drive, ambition to mentor and train junior team members, and fluency in business English.
