Position Overview- Specialty: Bone Marrow Transplant
- Discipline: RN
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Hours: 48 hours
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Employment Type: Travel
Key Responsibilities:
The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing Bone Marrow Transplants. The position may require working every other weekend and is subject to varying unit needs throughout the week. Holiday shifts are mandatory, but there is no on-call requirement.
Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana RN License
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Experience in Malignant Hematology/BMT or Oncology is essential
- Certification in ONS Chemotherapy is preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIH certification is required
- EPIC experience is necessary
- Teaching and Community Hospital experience is advantageous
Additional Information:
- Unit accepts first-time travelers
- May require floating to other units if patient census decreases
- Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Required with exemptions only for medical or religious reasons
- Flu Vaccine: Required with no exemptions
Typical Procedures: The unit performs procedures such as Bone Marrow Biopsies, Central Line Management, and Blood and Bone Marrow Transplants.
