About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled Vascular Sonographer to join our team in Midlothian, Illinois. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing a comprehensive array of sophisticated abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations, demonstrating technical expertise and attention to detail.
  • Accurately recognize and document critical findings, such as deep vein thrombosis, ectopic pregnancy, and aortic aneurysms.
  • Assist physicians during procedures, such as amniocentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies, and cath lab procedures.
  • Provide preliminary results and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality assurance and accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with established standards.
Requirements
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Associates degree in Allied Health or Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health Science preferred.
