  • Pre-Treatment Preparation: Welcome and soothe patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and at ease during dental hygiene treatment.

  • Disease Detection: Conduct oral cancer screenings, examine gums, and use probes to identify periodontal disease and assess recession levels.
  • Dental Decay Prevention: Apply fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents to arrest dental decay.
  • Emergency Response: Maintain CPR certification, emergency drugs, and oxygen supply, and have a directory of emergency numbers readily available.
  • Patient Education: Provide oral hygiene and plaque control instructions, as well as post-operative instructions, to ensure patients understand their oral health needs.
  • Documentation: Record vital signs, medical and dental histories, and chart patient records to maintain accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance on dental equipment, follow manufacturer instructions, troubleshoot malfunctions, and maintain equipment inventories.
  • Supply Management: Check stock levels, anticipate needed supplies, place and expedite orders, and verify receipt of supplies to maintain a well-stocked inventory.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with industry developments by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
