This position is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems, piping, steam systems, and equipment. These systems are critical to the operation of the hospital, including medical gases, vacuum systems, sewage systems, domestic water supply, and heating and chilled water systems.
Key Responsibilities- Installs, repairs, and maintains fixtures and equipment such as urinals, toilets, sinks, drinking fountains, and faucets.
- Clears pipe stoppages using drain cleaning equipment and replaces copper, cast, and PVC piping.
- Installs, inspects, and maintains all existing plumbing and hydronic systems.
- Completes inspections of all plumbing systems and equipment according to established procedures, federal and state regulations, and codes.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints and sketches.
- Ability to braze, solder, and use plumbing tools.
- Assists other skilled workers and performs general maintenance work as needed.
- Responsible for corrective and preventive maintenance of all assigned equipment using a data-based work order management system.
- Responsible for maintaining parts, materials, and supplies to perform daily job functions.
- Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED/Equivalent (required)
- Plumber apprenticeship or 2-year degree (preferred)
- 5+ years commercial/industrial Plumber experience (required)
- 10+ years commercial/industrial Plumber experience (preferred)
- Current Valid Driver's License (required)
- Plumber Journeyman (preferred)
- Kentucky Society of Healthcare Engineers KSHE Safe Day One (preferred)
- Med Gas (preferred)
- Backflow Prevention (preferred)
