Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at Illinois Cancer Specialists. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as needed.
- Provide collaborative nursing support to ensure efficient patient flow and care.
- Assist physicians with exams and procedures, including administering injections and taking vital signs.
- Answer patient telephone calls and direct them to the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RNs.
- Perform miscellaneous clerical tasks, including maintaining physician schedules and managing patient records.
Requirements:
- High School degree or equivalent required.
- 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or equivalent experience in a clinical setting.
- CPR Certification and BLS certification required.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification preferred.
- Phlebotomy skills highly desired.
- Oncology experience preferred.
