Position Overview:

As the Head Compounding Pharmacist, you will report directly to the Director of Compounding Production. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the strategic enhancement and expansion of our compounding capabilities. You will serve as a key expert in the formulation of new compounded therapies, ensuring that all medications are dispensed in strict compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations while prioritizing quality and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all compounding staff.
  • Conduct and accurately document compounding processes, including quality assurance and quality control measures.
  • Provide training and performance evaluations for compounding personnel.
  • Review and authorize materials utilized in compounding.
  • Supervise the calibration and maintenance of compounding equipment and collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure optimal compounding conditions.
  • Engage with R&D teams to facilitate the development and scaling of new compounded formulations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including USP and internal guidelines, while preparing compounded medications.
  • Maintain a safety-first approach in all laboratory activities, particularly when handling hazardous materials.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Participate in patient consultations and document any errors as required.
  • Coordinate with the Pharmacist-in-charge regarding compliance and regulatory issues.
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures for the compounding laboratory.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in non-sterile compounding.
  • Strong mathematical proficiency.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with pharmacy and compounding equipment.
  • Effective leadership skills to guide pharmacy teams.
  • Capability to collaborate with remote teams.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
  • Active Pharmacist License in Ohio and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
  • 5+ years of pharmacist experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a compounding pharmacy.
