Law Enforcement Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated Police Cadet to join our team. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting police officers in their daily duties, including patrolling, responding to emergency calls, and conducting investigations.
About the Role:
As a Police Cadet at the City of Cibolo Police Department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining law and order in the community. You will assist in community outreach programs, such as public safety fairs, school visits, or events like Coffee with a Cop. Additionally, you will perform clerical duties, maintain department equipment and supplies, and shadow officers during non-critical tasks to learn departmental operations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Good physical condition and ability to meet the physical demands of the job
Responsibilities:
- Attend and complete the police academy as a key requirement of the cadet program.
- Participate in department-provided training, including physical fitness, defensive tactics, communication, and law enforcement techniques.
- Learn department policies, procedures, and local laws to prepare for a career as a sworn officer.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as filing reports, organizing records, or data entry, to assist sworn officers.
- Maintain equipment and supplies, including uniforms, vehicles, or safety gear.
- Shadow officers during non-critical tasks to learn departmental operations.
- Maintain physical fitness standards required for the academy and future law enforcement roles.
Skill Requirements:
You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be interacting with members of the community on a daily basis. Critical thinking, decision-making, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills are also essential.
Compensation: We offer a competitive salary of $52,000 per year, plus an outstanding fringe benefits package that includes 100% fully paid employee health, vision, dental, and life insurance, generous retirement package, 13 paid holidays, 3 weeks of vacation, and more.
