Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in the Surgical Robotics Organization. As a key member of our Software Center of Excellence, you will be responsible for leading the development of embedded software for our robotic systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of embedded software for robotic systems, working closely with cross-functional teams to complete requirements definition, design, code implementation, unit test, and system verification and validation.
- Participate in scrum activities and may act as scrum master or product owner based on project needs.
- Help the team evaluate and create new or improve existing processes.
- Collaborate with engineers to create our market-leading portfolio of innovations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in C++ and Python.
- Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting embedded systems.
- Deep understanding of Linux, QNX, or other operating systems.
- Experience in software architecture design.
- Experience leading an engineering team.
- Experience developing software for robotic systems.
- Experience with medical devices.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum/SAFe software development practices.
