Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Pet Counselor to join our team at Safari Stan's Pet Center. As a Pet Counselor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, educating customers on pet care, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service and educate customers on pet care.
  • Assess customer needs and provide assistance and information on product features.
  • Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries.
  • Maintain excellent animal husbandry and perform opening, daily, and closing procedures.
  • Follow and achieve department's sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Actively seek out customers in store and remain knowledgeable on products offered.
  • Process POS purchases, handle returns, and cross-sell products.
  • Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service and build productive trust relationships with customers.
  • Comply with inventory control procedures and suggest ways to improve sales.

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Retail Sales associate, Sales representative, animal care-related fields, or similar role.
  • Strong communication skills and basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
  • Proficiency in English and basic math skills.
  • Fully bilingual English & Spanish speaking would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Track record of over-achieving sales quota and hands-on experience with POS transactions.
  • Familiarity with inventory procedures and solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A friendly and energetic personality with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner.
