Key Responsibilities

  • Design and perform routine and complex laboratory experiments, including molecular/cell biology, metabolomics, and mouse tumor models.
  • Work independently under the mentorship of Dr. Priyamvada Rai and serve as a liaison for translational approaches under Dr. Marijo Bilusic's guidance.
  • Carry out experimental protocols with technical rigor and accuracy, interpret data, and maintain accurate records.
  • Stay informed by reading technical journals and publications, and search literature for references to technical problems.
  • Assist in preparing data and figures for publication in refereed journals and grant applications.
  • Present data in laboratory meetings and scientific meetings.
  • Provide training and mentoring to graduate students and work cooperatively with other lab members and scientific collaborators.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, molecular genetics, cell biology, cancer biology, or a related life science field with a strong publication record.
  • Prior experience in cancer research, competence with basic molecular biology and cell biology techniques, and hands-on expertise with mouse models is required.
  • Prior experience in cancer models of obesity and/or expertise in metabolomics/lipidomics is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics and transcriptomics is desirable.
  • Candidates who already reside in the country are preferred.
