Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering safe and effective patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing direct patient care within the defined scope of practice. The Registered Nurse will also oversee and guide patient and family education, as well as the activities of other nursing staff, while ensuring adherence to established standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible for the care provided to assigned patients and must communicate effectively with physicians regarding any changes in patients' clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptomatology. The ability to respond promptly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses is essential.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certification upon hire and maintain throughout employment.
- ACLS certification preferred within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.
- Previous experience in an Acute Care hospital setting is preferred.
- Experience with Ventilator Management is preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
