About the JobThis is a contract position for a Travel Contract RN, offering a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities- Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Administer and monitor patient responses to medications.
- Direct and guide patient care, teaching, and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing within the realm of hospital policy.
- Maintain and deliver the highest quality customer service standards.
- Properly utilize the nursing process in caring for patients by maintaining relevant, accurate, and current patient records as evidenced by nursing PI activities.
- Provide documentation of assessment of the patient throughout the hospital admission, including physical, psychological, social dimensions, and discharge plans.
- Summarize assessment data and initiate a plan of care with communication of pertinent data to allied patient care providers as evidenced by nursing PI activities.
- Understand, assume, and demonstrate proficiency in the role of charge nurse.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computerized nursing informatics (information systems).
- Assume the role of resource person regarding patient care, orientation, and teaching staff.
- Participate in at least four-unit staff meetings per year, attend mandatory programs, and obtain three hours of Patient Care Assessment Committee (PCAC) credit per year.
- Participate in the identification of aspects of care for the patient, indicators used to monitor the quality and appropriateness of care, and the evaluation of that care.
- Adhere to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
- Assess personal learning development needs.
- Maintain documentation of current and ongoing professional development activities.
- Regularly update knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served.
- Show a willingness to participate on nursing committees.
- Represent the hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters and by presenting the hospital in a manner that will best market the services provided.
- Perform other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested by his/her immediate supervisor.
- Consistently provide service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers in a manner that reflects the hospital's commitment to compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and service.
- BLS and ACLS
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- Requires a minimum of two years of current RN psychiatric experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
- Active unencumbered RN Massachusetts state license
- One year of Epic experience
- COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
- Maintain and update clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participate in relevant continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers, and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
