Job Summary

Weis Markets, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Retail Crime Investigator to join our Asset Protection team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Retail Crime Investigators (RCIs) in assigned markets, ensuring the effective supervision and performance of RCIs, and driving business results through the investigation and resolution of organized retail crime (ORC) cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 6-12 RCIs in assigned markets, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure team members are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Participate in periodic performance reviews of RCI team members, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage complex ORC investigations, including monitoring merchandise for sale at independent shops, flea markets, and online marketplaces to identify Weis Markets stolen product.
  • Assist the District Asset Protection Manager with RCI recruitment, interviewing, and hiring, ensuring the selection of highly skilled and motivated candidates.
  • Develop and implement training programs for RCIs, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively investigate and resolve ORC cases.
  • Manage and prioritize RCI time and schedules to best meet business needs and ORC trends, ensuring maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Coordinate blitzes with the RCI team and host regional RCI conference calls as needed, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the team.
  • Drive self-scan investigations, approve prosecutions, and ensure cases are resolved in accordance with company guidelines.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year Asset Protection experience performing equal or similar functions to the above description.
  • Ability to direct and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring effective time management and productivity.
