QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
• At least 10 years of experience in the aviation industry is essential.
• Minimum of 5 years in a quality assurance or inspection capacity, ideally within an MRO setting.
• Familiarity with FAR 145 regulations is required.
• AS9110 or ISO equivalent experience is highly recommended.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Must be proficient in English.
• An Airframe and Powerplant License is required, or the ability to obtain a repairman's certificate with the organization.
• Successful completion of a thorough background check is mandatory.
• This role is safety-sensitive and adheres to DOT drug and alcohol regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee, guide, and manage all personnel in the inspection, nondestructive testing, and metrology departments. Ensure that all inspections are conducted accurately on completed work prior to customer release, and that all necessary inspection records and reports are properly maintained.
• Keep an updated file of relevant FAA specifications and Airworthiness Directives. Responsible for securing and maintaining current technical data approved by the Administrator for all units overhauled, altered, or repaired.
• Ensure proper handling and preservation of all units or parts throughout the repair process.
• Provide necessary repair and overhaul manuals, service bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives to the team.
• Equip the quality operation with adequate materials, equipment, and skilled personnel.
• Maintain organized records of work orders and inspection forms for easy retrieval.
• Develop and implement inspection standards, methods, and procedures to comply with FAA Regulations and manufacturer specifications.
• Ensure that no defective or unapproved parts are utilized in any component or unit released.
• Establish and revise policies and procedures related to inspection needs.
• Ensure compliance with shift turnover procedures and maintain proficiency among inspection personnel.
• Supervise and train receiving inspectors.
• Maintain records of checks and calibration of inspection tools and ensure compliance with established check periods.
• Conduct thorough inspections of all items processed.
• Ensure proper identification and handling of rejected and unserviceable parts.
• Keep the 'Roster of Supervisory and Inspection Personnel' and 'Delegation of Authority Roster' up to date.
• Control materials subject to shelf-life and ensure regular inspections.
