Job Title: Aerospace Engineer IV

Job Summary:

Under general directions with limited review, this position is responsible for applying innovative approaches to resolving unusual or complex engineering problems. Assignments are normally outlined in terms of overall objectives and reviewed largely at completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supports the Article Test team with test planning, fixture design, execution, and reporting for aircraft and aircraft components.
  • Devises new approaches to resolve unusual or complex engineering problems relating to structural and mechanical testing of aircraft and aircraft parts.
  • Troubleshoots conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirements.
  • Provides documentation, including test plans and reports, and makes technical presentations as required.
  • May represent the organization as the prime technical contact on structural testing.
  • Provides direction to design or technical staff, leading a team of experienced professional staff. May include budgeting and scheduling responsibilities for the test department.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
