Our Unit Highlights:
- We are a 32-bed unit that provides world-renowned care to critically ill patients requiring ECMO/ECLS, total artificial hearts, LVADs, heart and lung transplants, CABGs, valves, and care for patients with adult congenital heart defects and many more mechanical cardiac support devices.
- We are recognized as a PLATINUM level Center of Excellence in caring for ECMO patients.
- We have a patient care model that includes RNs, ECMO specialists, and Nurse Technicians, with 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratios.
- Our leadership team is dedicated to supporting the growth and development of our team members, with many participating in the Professional Excellence Program and holding national certifications in critical care nursing.
- We work with world-renowned Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Critical Care Medicine Physicians, and Advanced Practice Providers, who host an array of specialties including cardiac anesthesia, cardiothoracic surgery, critical care medicine, ECMO, pulmonology, and vascular surgery.

The Role You'll Contribute:
As an Advanced Cardiothoracic Registered Nurse, you'll work in a highly specialized cardiothoracic intensive care unit or operating room, providing care to patients requiring constant monitoring and whose clinical conditions are considered critical. You'll be responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age-specific groups, utilizing the nursing process to achieve the goals of the nursing department.
The Expertise and Experiences You'll Need to Succeed:
- Graduate of a school of nursing
- One year experience in cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, or cardiac ICU setting OR cardiovascular operating room experience
- Department-specific advanced competencies
- Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced life support certification (ACLS) per specialty/unit requirements
