About Us:

Polk Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated Associate Veterinarian to join our compassionate team. The

Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for delivering comprehensive veterinary care, including wellness

vaccinations, deworming, nutritional guidance, internal medicine, surgical procedures, emergency and critical

care, ultrasound diagnostics, X-ray imaging, and clinical pathology for a variety of animals, including

horses, dogs, cats, and other pets as well as farm animals. The key responsibilities of this role

include:
- Conducting routine health examinations and preventive care for canine, feline, avian, and exotic patients;
- Performing thorough evaluations to diagnose and treat medical conditions across all organ systems;
- Building strong relationships with clients by actively listening to their concerns and providing empathetic care;
- Prioritizing urgent cases to ensure timely medical attention for all animals;
- Educating pet owners on the significance of vaccinations, heartworm prevention, flea and tick control, and other

aspects of preventive healthcare;
- Assisting in surgical procedures, including spaying, neutering, and dental care;
- Mentoring and training new veterinary technicians and support staff;
- Physically examining and treating animals for various health issues;
- Performing diagnostic tests and interpreting results;
- Adhering to established vaccination protocols;
- Utilizing medical equipment, such as X-ray machines, for diagnostic purposes;
- Providing geriatric care for aging pets;
- Prescribing medications and educating clients on treatment plans;
- Performing humane euthanasia when necessary;
- Staying informed on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.

Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent qualification.

Licensure:
- Must possess a valid license from the California State Veterinary Medical Board;
- Successful completion of the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) is required.

Compensation:
- Competitive salary range of $125,000 to $145,000 per year.
