Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our Radiology team at Northside Hospital. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for coordinating daily activities and distributing work in the Radiology department during scheduled shifts. You will also act as a Preceptor Nurse, providing clinical expertise and education to new employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily activities and distribute work in the Radiology department during scheduled shifts
  • Act as a Preceptor Nurse, providing clinical expertise and education to new employees
  • Work with a unit-specific patient population, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Set priorities based on the situation at hand and manage a combination of direct patient care, management, and education roles
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Demonstrated proficiency in skills applicable to designated area within probationary period
  • Demonstrated ability to assume Charge Nurse responsibilities and clinical expertise in area
  • Successful completion of a management course prior to appointment, or within six months of employment
  • Two years RN experience or One year as a RN and Two years as a LPN
  • Two years recent experience in specialty
  • Certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years experience involving the treatment of critical care or surgical patients or experience in radiology nursing
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), PALS Certification preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation
