Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Android Software Engineer to join our Mobile Experience team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for providing the best industry experience for users to consume video content. This includes playback experience, mobile experience, and mobile reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product and other engineering teams to define a world-class app experience.
  • Build key experience metrics, analyze and optimize applications for quality, efficiency, and performance.
  • Continuously optimize app performance and improve reliability on complex device models and network environment.
  • Design and build the anti-deterioration system to prevent experience regression.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, capabilities, and limitations of the Android platform.
  • Experience in Android developing languages, with a solid understanding of application design philosophies, clean API design, etc.
  • Working knowledge of remote APIs, concurrency, layouts, transitions, animations, client side persistence, and architectural patterns on mobile apps.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience in sub-engineering areas such as performance optimization, tool-chain, automated testing, design pattern, etc.
  • Strong communication skills; enjoy working as a team while being comfortable with delivering large business outcomes independently.
