Position Overview:

This role involves providing liaison engineering support for heavy maintenance operations at aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Functions:
  • Delivering technical resolutions (through Engineering Authorizations) and guidance for aircraft challenges that surpass established limits for structural damage, including repairs to sheet metal and composites. This often necessitates conducting structural analyses.
  • Issuing work deviation authorizations, interpreting service documentation, and Engineering Orders.
  • Evaluating options for part repair versus replacement to minimize financial implications.
  • Offering troubleshooting support for aircraft systems to Base Maintenance.
  • Participating in daily production and pre-induction meetings to ensure timely assistance.
  • Providing on-site engineering support for significantly damaged aircraft as needed.
  • Coordinating with Engineering Fleet Groups for further actions, troubleshooting, and follow-up.
  • Monitoring trends and recurring issues that require corrective measures. Developing standard repair procedures and supplementary manuals to reduce repetitive requests.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
  • A minimum of two years in a relevant technical field.
Essential Skills:
  • Capability to perform structural analyses to validate repairs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and adept at prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), FAA policies, and vendor manuals (AMM, IPC, CMM).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate internal customer needs.
  • Experience in aircraft, airline, or MRO engineering is preferred.
Work Schedule:
  • Typical shifts run from Tuesday through the following Monday.
  • 10-hour workdays (with an additional 5 hours of pay on either end to cover travel).
  • 7 on/7 off rotation (no relocation required).
  • Travel expenses covered (including flights, accommodations, rental vehicles, etc.).
Location Details:

The initial location will be in Charlotte for training, lasting two to three weeks. Following training, the position may transition to one of the other specified locations as needed. Additionally, the location may change with prior notice based on coverage requirements.

This is a W-2 hourly position with an estimated pay rate of $65.00 per hour.
