We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Specialist II to join our award-winning team at Southern Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to our commitment to quality, compassion, and community.
Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of laboratory procedures, including waived, moderate, and highly complex tests, using both manual and automated methods.
- Ensure the accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting, and recognize age-specific differences in expected results.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures, and adhere to all department and hospital policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and human resources.
- May be required to perform venipuncture or capillary puncture on various age groups, and may be assigned responsibilities related to LIS and/or POC.
- ASCP certification or equivalent required.
- Minimum two years of hospital laboratory work experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA.
- Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.
